The Business Development Unit (BDU) provides workforce and enterprise development services to organisations of all type and size across London. We have a particularly strong presence in Lambeth, Southwark and neighbouring boroughs.
Lambeth College is one of the top further education colleges in the country and is an approved Train to Gain provider, which means we can provide free training to some employees in some vocational areas. Train to Gain is a government funded initiative that focuses on the needs of employers, while supporting employees to gain nationally recognised skills and formal qualifications.
As a Train to Gain approved provider, Lambeth College can help businesses improve their bottom line and give staff the skills they need to work more efficiently and effectively. Lambeth College specialises in delivering employer-focussed training to meet the needs of industry. Delivered at a time and place convenient to the client, Lambeth College is able to identify funding sources that may make training free to some employees.
Over the last ten years, the Business Development Unit (BDU) has fostered relationships with local small and medium sized businesses as well as large private and public sector organisations such as Interserve, Care UK, Response Security Training Ltd, Plan Personnel, Lambeth Council, Mayday Healthcare, NHS Trust and Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital.
Our expert tutors combine industry-based experience and innovative curriculum, to provide “real world” advice and solutions to complex business issues.
Partnering with organisations at industry and business level, the BIC can help drive strategic development for small, medium and large business.
Lambeth College has Centres for Vocational Excellence (CoVE) in Business Enterprise, Building and Construction and Administration, Finance and Management, and has specialist facilities for training in security, Information and Communication Technology, Engineering and Health and Social Care.
