Ambreen Iqbal, who studied A-levels in mathematics, business and geography at NewVIc, achieved an outstanding result in geography this year. Out of 10,000 A-level geography students nationwide Ambreen achieved a top ten position. She praised her teacher for pushing her to her full potential and giving her confidence to realise how capable she is.

NewVIc Principal, Eddie Playfair, praised Ambreen: "This is a stunning achievement and everyone at NewVIc is really proud of Ambreen's success. Once again this shows that Newham students can be among the very top performing students in the most challenging exams."

Ambreen was also congratulated by Edexcel, the UK's largest awarding body offering a range of qualifications. Managing director Jerry Jarvis said of Ambreen's success: "This is a tremendous achievement and testament to the hard work students put into preparing for their exams."

Ambreen is now studying Business Management at Kings College.
