Gap Year

A very popular option prior to embarking on Further and Higher Education with two main philosophies. Now that there are no such things as 'student grants' many people spend the year working to get a bit of money behind them - in some parts of the country there are plenty of jobs available that fit the bill but it is best to investigate before you decide if this is what you hope to do.

A agencies are a pretty efficient way of finding particularly part-time and temporary work but can also be useful for longer-term prospects in Year-Out terms. A growing number of school-leavers use the gap before Further and Higher Education to travel - wealthy parents can be useful, company/Armed Forces sponsorship equally so, but for the vast majority working for funding is required.
