Social Life

Part 2

Also check out our city-by-city pages where you can see what is hot and what is not, in each college town across the UK. Lists of clubs and pubs and other good nightspots, with recommendations by students who are studying in the area, can be accessed in our City Guides.

As far as sex is concerned - if you like it, do it - if you don't like it, do it anyway; you might like it. But don't ever let yourself be forced into doing something you don't want, and if you're not getting it - don't worry, you can bet your mates (especially if they're male) are not running around constantly with their trousers down satisfying their animalistic urges.

If you're going to drink yourself into oblivion, and we heartily recommend that you do so at least once in your college career (for the sake of research of course), then at least do it with some style. Try an optic run - drinking one of every spirit (or doubles if you're tough enough) along the bar until you fall off the end. If you can still stand up after that, try racing your mates down the cocktail menu. If you can still stand up after that - you've got an iron constitution we take our hats off to you. For some good books on drinking games, three-legged pub crawls and cocktails, have a look at our Student Store, there are some class ideas that'll seriously hurt your head the next morning.

Try your best to explore your horizons whilst at university and you'll surely find like-minded people who also enjoy naked bungee jumping or Timmy Mallet's Wack-a-day. Uni is full of people like you; nutters who want to try out new stuff, nutters who've already done "all that" and nutters who like to watch...oo err missus!

Colleges have loads of sports associations, or most of them do at any rate, and so if you're into mainstream sports like footie and rugby, or not-so-mainstream sports like croquet or synchronised diving, make sure you join the relevant society and make the most of government subsidised field-trips or membership fees.
