The Facts

Possessing or trafficking (supplying, intending to supply, importing, exporting or dealing) some drugs is illegal. The Misuse of Drugs Act classifies these as either Class A, B or C with each class carrying different penalties.

Proving that the drugs that you possess and whether or not you intend to deal is difficult to the police, so often they base their decision on the quantity in you possession. Also, apart from the obvious legalities, there are obvious health and safety reasons you may want to consider. Again, this is a topic that brings about much discussion and each person has his or her own opinion. Make sure that any decisions you take are the right ones for you, and never let yourself be pressured into doing something you're not 100% about.

In addition, many colleges (if not all) have very strict guidelines about drug usage, and each of us can name someone who got thrown off campus or straight out of college for drug usage. Be careful with what you take, but if you are going to take drugs, be careful not to get caught.

It is a sad fact that many of the drugs passing through the College scene (especially the clubbing scene where E's are prevalent) are part impure, meaning that you could be consuming washing-up powder, lemon sherbet, horse steroids or heroin. So if you are in any doubt, leave it, since the health risks are too easy to imagine.
