Sixth form colleges

3 young students

Most of the students at sixth-form colleges are aged between 16 and 19, and study full-time. The teachers are specialists in dealing with students at this stage of their education, and the subjects and courses offered are designed to meet their needs.

Sixth-form colleges have excellent records of academic achievement and deliver a high rate of progression to university. They act as a bridge to adult life and provide strong pastoral care, such as tutoring, communicating with parents and keeping track of your progress.

Many sixth-form colleges offer good links with employers and introduce students to the skills and requirements of the workplace.

Some Further Education colleges have separate sixth-form colleges attached to them.
