Centre for Engineering and Manufacturing Excellence (CEME) - Auto Engineering
The Centre for Engineering and Manufacturing Excellence (CEME) is a non-profit making joint venture between Barking & Havering Colleges and private companies, most notably Ford Motor Company.
The Centre is housed in brand new, purpose-built premises where students can take advantage of well-equipped, spacious workshops, flat screen computers and the latest teaching technologies.
CEME runs courses to teach the skills required by car manufacturers as well as the motor vehicle garage trades such as vehicle maintenance and repair. The Ford sponsored Advanced Modern Apprenticeships are joined by general Further Education students, and school link students.
The Centre is unique in the country and is based in the Thames Gateway area of London, forming part of it's on-going regeneration, and enjoying the benefits of being close to Ford's European manufacturing and administrative headquarters in Dagenham.
