Visas
If you are a national of the EEA or Switzerland (see below if you are not sure) you will not require a visa if you wish to travel to the UK to study. You will be required to show your passport or identity card on entry to the UK, but you have the right to remain or leave and return without restriction. This is referred to as right of residence. You do not need to register with the police and are not required to obtain a residence permit.
Working
If you are an EEA or Swiss national you may work without restriction in the UK during and after your studies. If you are travelling to the UK to study full-time and do not intend to work, it will be expected that you can fund yourself without recourse to public funds.
What is the EEA?
The EEA comprises Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, in addition to the member states of the EU (Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, the Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the UK).
