Working in London

Isle of dogs, London

Growing city

At 7.3 million, London's population is almost the total of Rome, Paris, Vienna and Brussels combined. In the last 15 years enough people have moved here to fill the entire city of Frankfurt, and almost a million more are expected in the next ten years.

Unique city

So why do people come here? Because, quite simply, there is nowhere else like it in Europe; probably in the world. London offers opportunities for work that most cities can only dream about. The options open to someone starting work, or planning a career, in London are quite unique.

Working city

London's needs are also unique. Certain workers, with certain skills, are needed to maintain the city's growth. Five areas of the economy that are growing particularly fast, or are experiencing shortages of workers with the right skills, are featured here. You can study in all these areas at a London college.
