By 14th July 2026Uncategorised

Students and staff from across the Colleges came together for a fantastic Sports Day, with more than 60 students from three campuses taking part in a fun-filled programme of sporting activities and friendly competition.

Blessed with sunshine and a refreshing breeze throughout the day, participants enjoyed ideal conditions that helped create a positive and energetic atmosphere from start to finish. Students demonstrated outstanding enthusiasm, teamwork and sportsmanship, encouraging one another in every event and celebrating each other’s achievements along the way.

The day featured a wide range of activities designed to challenge and engage participants of all abilities. Events included the long jump, high jump, tug of war, volleyball, football throw, 100m sprint and the always-popular 50m walking race. Staff also joined in the fun with their own 50m race, which proved to be a highlight of the day, drawing plenty of cheers and laughter from students and spectators alike.

Beyond the competition, Sports Day provided an excellent opportunity for students from different campuses to connect, make new friends and build confidence in a supportive and inclusive environment. The event highlighted the College’s commitment to promoting wellbeing, participation and community spirit through sport.

Following an exciting day of competition, South Thames secured first place, with Carshalton finishing second and Merton taking third place.

A huge thank you goes to everyone involved in organising the event, as well as all the students and staff who participated and helped make the day such a memorable success. We look forward to building on this year’s achievements and making next year’s Sports Day even bigger and better. 🏆🎉
