New CEO for Barnet and Southgate College

Barnet and Southgate College is very pleased to announce that following a highly competitive selection process, Darren Mepham has been appointed as the new CEO for Barnet and Southgate College.

Darren brings with him a wealth of knowledge and a current background within local government. He has been Chief Executive of two local authorities, currently Bridgend County Borough Council.

Darren will take up post in January 2019 and relishes the opportunity to lead a strong and vibrant College: “I am thrilled to have secured the opportunity to lead the College during this exciting phase of development. I am looking to forward to working with new partners and ensuring the College plays a full and successful part in the skills devolution agenda.”
Ann Zinkin, Chair of Corporation said: “We are delighted to have someone of Darren’s talent to build on our previous achievements. This appointment marks a new chapter in our history and all of us look forward to his vision and leadership qualities having an inspirational impact on our students and stakeholders.”

Out-going Principal David Byrne also said: “It’s been a great honour to lead such a good College, so it is fantastic news that I can hand the keys over to Darren, knowing that with his skills and calibre, the College will go from strength to strength.”
