New data shows nine out of 10 United Colleges Group students progress on to positive destinations after their studies.
An independent report, carried out by J2 Research with students from the College of North West London, with campuses in Willesden and Euston, and City of Westminster College, with campuses in Paddington and Maida Vale, who completed their courses in the 2024/25 academic year, found that 91% of them progressed into either paid employment, apprenticeships or Further or Higher Education, representing an increase on the previous year’s results.
The findings are reinforced by a latest QDP student survey, in which more than 90% of students reported good experiences in key aspects of college life, including induction and settling in, well-organised classes, clear assessment tasks and making good progress on their courses.
Students also stated that they feel supported and are achieving their personal goals, with comments including: “Teaching is outstanding. It is a well organised and well-equipped college,” and “The college provides a supportive and friendly learning environment… I also appreciate the variety of resources and the way the staff encourage students to improve their skills”.
Learners praised the college for providing “the opportunity to ensure a stable future, gaining loads of experience and social skills,” and for being places where “everyone is safe and… feels accepted regardless of their race or religion”.
The most recent survey attracted the highest number of student responses to date, with average scores in areas such as Teaching and Learning, Wellbeing and Learner Voic increasing for the college year-on-year since 2021.
Stephen Davis, CEO and Group Principal, United Colleges Group, said: “The findings from both independent research and student survey feedback demonstrate that United Colleges Group provides a high-quality, inclusive and supportive learning environment, where students feel safe, respected and motivated to succeed.
“Strong progression outcomes and positive student experiences highlight the effectiveness of the teaching and support offered by UCG staff, ensuring our learners are well prepared for employment, further study and long-term success.”
These results underscore United Colleges Group’s commitment to delivering high-quality education and training ─ which was recognised by Ofsted in its latest report, with inspectors highlighting the college’s success in key areas such as Quality of Education, Leadership and Management and Education Programmes for Young People.
